Numerator may refer to:
- A numeral used to indicate a count, particularly of the equal parts in a fraction. A numerator is the number on top of the fraction. For example, in the fraction , also written 3/4, 3 is the numerator and 4 is the denominator.
- In counting, a person who counts
- Sometimes the numerator is also referred to as the "nominator," a term more compatible with denominator, so the terms on the top and bottom of the fraction have similar names.[1]
