Truly is an American rock band formed in the wake of the grunge era. It featured former Soundgarden bassist Hiro Yamamoto, one-time Screaming Trees drummer Mark Pickerel, and singer Robert Roth. While not a commercially successful group like some of their Seattle contemporaries, the band lasted a decade with two studio albums to their name.
Truly released one EP, Heart and Lungs, in 1991 and one four-track CD, Leslie's Coughing Up Blood, for Sub Pop in 1993. They recorded the full-length studio album Fast Stories... from Kid Coma from 1992-'94. Truly then signed with Capitol Records before releasing the aforementioned work in 1995. A second album, Feeling You Up, was released in 1997 under Thick Records. The band's final release, Twilight Curtains, a mixture of new and unreleased songs and demos, was released in Europe in 2000 through the independent label, Cargo/Headhunter U.K.
Their comeback was in 2008, with concerts and the promise of a new record, due out in 2010.
